Transmitting Magnetic Compass
Manufacturer: Red Line Instruments
This modification converts a conventional
gimballed
magnetic compass into a Transmitting Magnetic Compass (TMC).
The TMC pickup coil is attached to the underside of a externally
gimballed compass
and terminated in a small sealed interface box mounted near the compass.
The coil generates a NMEA0183 sentence and can be directly
connected to suitable equipment without the need for additional
equipment. The assembly is factory assembled and aligned
to ensure it's accuracy. The NMEA sentence is mapped to
the compass card.
Red Line Instruments modify the Autonautic
compasses models CHH and C20. Once the NMEA Pickup is installed the compass readout is mapped to the NMEA $HCHDG sentence.
Other gimballed compasses can be modified - please enquire.
Pricing depends on the compass to which
the TMC pickup is fitted, please enquire for pricing and availability
